Download MPLAB-X SDK For MPLAB X IDE 5.40: · MPLAB X IDE now a 64-bit application only. This version cannot be run on 32-bit operating systems; 64-bit operating systems are required. · MPASM no longer included in install. MPASM toolchain is 32-bit and is no longer supported. Therefore, you will see a message on opening the IDE that there is no toolchain installed. · Devices and Tools decoupled from MPLAB X IDE releases. As of v5.40 and future versions, you can update/switch device and tool support by updating/switching device family packs (DFPs) and related tool packs (TPs). Because of changes to the DFPs and TPs, you cannot switch between v5.40 and v5.35 or previous versions. · Project groups. Group projects (File>Group Projects), which can be useful when developing applications and bootloaders. · Bootstrap configurator now included. kconfig is now available in the IDE for editing bootloader files (at91bootloader) for MPU32 and other devices. · OpenJDK now used.
